Robert Reese is a State Representative, community advocate, and proven leader dedicated to strengthening rural communities and expanding opportunity for the people of House District 70. His work has always centered on ensuring that families, students, farmers, and small business owners have access to the resources they need to thrive.
Before serving in the South Carolina House of Representatives, Robert built his career advocating for underrepresented communities. He helped students access higher education, supported minority entrepreneurs in securing capital to sustain and grow their businesses, and led workforce development initiatives designed to prepare the next generation for high-demand careers. His work has focused on addressing real challenges facing rural South Carolina, including affordable housing, infrastructure improvements, environmental protection, and economic mobility.
Since being elected to the South Carolina House, Robert has remained focused on delivering results for District 70. As Co-Chair of the South Carolina Legislative Rural Caucus, he has worked to expand healthcare access, strengthen workforce pipelines, and ensure rural communities are not left behind in economic development and public investment. He has secured critical support for community initiatives, advocated for infrastructure improvements, and remained accessible and responsive to the people he serves.
Robert believes leadership begins with listening. Throughout his term, he has met directly with residents, community leaders, farmers, students, and business owners to understand their concerns and turn those conversations into meaningful legislative action. His approach is rooted in accountability, transparency, and a commitment to ensuring District 70 has a strong voice in Columbia.
Today, Robert’s work is focused on addressing the issues that most directly impact the daily lives of residents across Kershaw and Richland Counties.
He is working to lower energy costs and ensure fair access to affordable power for families and rural communities. He is expanding access to safe, affordable housing to support long-term community stability. He is strengthening healthcare access and workforce training opportunities to ensure residents can receive care and build careers close to home. And he is supporting family farms and agricultural programs to protect the rural economy and preserve South Carolina’s agricultural legacy.
Robert Reese remains committed to showing up, listening, and delivering results for District 70.
Help him build on the progress we’ve made together by re-electing him on June 9th for House of Representatives, S.C. District 70.

Lower Energy Bills & Fair Energy Access
Medicaid expansion has the potential to strengthen our state’s mental health system and to boost access to rural hospitals. The campaign commits to expanding healthcare coverage by passing a Medicaid expansion bill.
More Affordable Housing in Rural Communities
I’m working to expand safe, affordable housing so long-time residents aren’t priced out of their own neighborhoods.
Stronger Rural Healthcare & Jobs
As Co-Chair of the SC Rural Caucus, I’m focused on bringing more healthcare services and training programs to keep care — and careers — in our communities.
Protecting Farms & Growing the Next Generation of Farmers
I’m supporting family farms, youth programs, and local agriculture to protect our food system and rural economy.
Education
Early childhood education is a top priority for the campaign. Providing a formal educational setting for children in their formative years is essential, and funding birth-to-eight formal, and informal, programming is a top priority.
